Maura Tierney to check on In To The Office

Kate Burton Grey's Anatomy alum Kate Burton can look on Shonda Rhimes approaching series Scandal, TVGuide.com has learned. Burton, who performed mom of Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo), will portray V . P . Sally Hewitt around the ABC drama, which follows an expert fixer (Kerry Washington) who formerly labored in the Whitened House. The key role is dependant on crisis management consultant Judy Cruz, who had been active in the Monica Lewinsky situation. Shaun Perry, who performed Meredith's father, fills the role from the president's chief of staff. JoBeth Williams, who described Addison's mother on Private Practice, can look in Episode 3 like a client, while Liza Weil, also from Practice, plays an old Whitened House aide who turns into a client. Burton will first come in Episode 5 for any multi-episode arc from the new series, which does not come with an air date. Scandal is anticipated to premiere between late Feb or early March.
